Hi,
I know I am probably way late to the game, but I really want to try and get
this to work, so I thought I'd maybe ask and get lucky?? I hope this is
posted in the right place, I'm sorry if it is not, or if it is way off base!

I am trying to run the pptPlex Add-in, and I can't seem to get it to
actually run. I was able to install it just fine, and it shows up on my
Office Ribbon. However, I can't get any of the buttons to work, or anything
to run. I made my sections, placed them in front of the appropriate slides
and tried to create my Canvas Background. When I do so, I can't seem to get
any of the sections or slides to show up in the background. I've tried
everything I have found on this add in after searching everywhere but can't
seem to find much infomation. I feel like I am missing something very
simple, but it just won't work!

I feel like I should be able to get this work, but am at a loss. Again, I
know that I'm probably too late to get any help, but it just looks so neat, I
was really hoping to be able to use it, and I just thought I'd try. Thanks
so much!

I haven't tried it, but have had troubles with some of the other similar toys
from MS. They have a habit of giving you installers that make unfounded
assumptions. In one case, an app required a specific .NET framework plus a
programming support file for Office that isn't installed by default.

I don't see any Requirements information on the pptPlex page ... does the
installer perhaps give you any info or warnings?

But if you burrow further into the discussion, you find this:

http://www.officelabs.com/projects/pptPlex/Lists/Discussions/Flat.aspx?
RootFolder=%2fprojects%2fpptPlex%2fLists%2fDiscussions%2fIf%20pptPlex%20does%

Whoa, that's hopeless. Try this instead:

One of the suggestions there might work for you. Or not. Seems like the answer
is "Not" for most of the other folks there.

Hi

pptPlex works as expected for me. Did you use the 'Insert New Section'
button on the pptPlex tab to create your sections? Walk me through your
exact steps and I'll see if I can repro here/spot the issue.

I am going to guess you have all installed correct (because you have the
ribbon section and they are not greyed out). When I did experiment with it
awhile ago it took a while to figure out the way it tracks slide sets with
sections and (something else I cannot remember). Basically it is very nifty,
but with a non-intuitive interface...

Did you review these overview/how-to videos:
