From: Uwe Hoch on 25 Jan 2010 05:19 Hello all, I've got a very strange sound behavior. I installed a new 11.2 from scratch in an AMD64. I have sound in KDE itself, in amarok, in kaffeine, in ksCD. I don't have any sound in firefox nor in vlc. Is there any clue, how to solve this? Many Thanks in advance, Uwe -- * Uwe Hoch ** Munich/Germany ** nn(a)uho.de * * for real PM use hoch <at> the same domaine *

I just manually turn it back on. ( Open SuSE 11.0. ) However in 11.1 I don't get any sound from any web browser at all, but still get the above behavior. -- Best Regards: Baron.

What I don't get is sound from Amarok or Kaffeine. I could understand mp3, even though the Fluendo codec is installed, but ogg files also don't work. PCM is fine on this system, and doesn't exhibit the off on occasions that 11.2 does.

The hardware worked just fine in version 10.3. No sound problems at all. In 11.0 32 bit, it works fine with the exception mentioned above. In 11.1 32 bit, the sound works fine except as above and no sound in any browser. All the above using KDE 3.5.10. I did try 11.2 KDE 4. Argh. Went back to 11.1. -- Best Regards: Baron.
