performance tuning - relay
Hi We have 2 postfix servers. 1. One is our mail gateway which is also the primary MX for our domains, inbound and outbound emails all passes this (let's call this server1) server. 2. The other server is a standalone postfix with tons of disk. (let's call this server2). Server 2 doesn't relay email, it on... 28 Jun 2010 04:06

recipient delimiter ambiguity
I don't see any easy fix to this. A user has email forwarded from their address at domainA to their address at domainB and also to their address at domainC, each running on different mail servers (but maybe the same MTA software). The catch is that domainA uses one recipient delimiter character (for example '+'... 24 Jun 2010 13:01

Stop spammers using outdated MX records.
Hi all, I've encountered a problem that I'd really appreciate some help with. We've been running postfix (v2.4.5) for a while in our DMZ, it handles email for three domains, one is delivered locally to the postfix machine, the other two are forwarded inside the firewall to one of two mailservers, each responsi... 23 Jun 2010 23:53
postmap -q and ldap
I'm trying to test a new .cf file that uses ldap with postmap, and I noticed that it fails to actually honor the fields set in the file. I'm going off of the documentation found at <http://www.postfix.org/LDAP_README.html#example_group>. [zimbra(a)freelancer conf]$ postmap -q all_users(a)zimbra.com ldap:ldap-gr... 24 Jun 2010 14:08
Postfix helo.regexp file for stopping same to/from address
A while back I setup a helo.regexp file. I have changed it around a bit. I'm trying to stop e-mail that is sent to/from the same e-mail address but not my system. The idea was if they are sending mail to themselves from my ip address. It would be blocked. Example from my test server: /^webserv\.idahofu... 25 Jun 2010 12:05
