Thanks JD! It turns out the D4 is Dimension 4 which is actually a
clock-sync program. http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/ The culprit was
the Dell Support DS Agent. Disabled that and the modem warning is gone. I
think I'm finally caught up. I even had time to clone and drop in a new HD
on my wife's PC.
