Setting locale in 12.2 (UTF-8)
I thought I'd set things (on installation) to use UTF-8, but I've recently noticed a text editor (mousepad) defaulting to ISO-8859-1 as "Current Locale". pgrep <the App.> shows the pid/s of the several copies of the running App, and pstree -p shows the pid/s of the various apps. Where would the info be that ties the pid to the Desktop & console? == TIA. ... 13 Feb 2010 17:09

We've all seen the add: "because you're worth it", and no one wants their sweated-labour software to have to prove itself on the dog-box, before it gets installed on a better computer. Defining keymap prior to KDE log-in?
I use Slackware 12.2 since recently and all is working well. The installation was done with English as default language but with a German keyboard.
