Removing Samyak-Oriya fonts from Slack13
HI, Trying to setup WINE so I can integrate it with M(a)cro$of^ .NET framework. Going through the setup process at WINEHQ. I was able to pull it off with Slack 12.X but I seem to have forgotten the command to remove the Samyak-Oriya fonts from Slack 13 so I can complete the install/modification process to reco... 1 Mar 2010 15:14
lost icons in xfce
I seem to have lost all the icons on the xfce panel and menu (also individual programs - thunderbird/firefox, etc.) It might be something to do with some updates from sbopkg, but I don't remember updating anything related to xfce/icons/themes, etc. I'm running slackware64-current. Thank you for your help -- re... 19 Feb 2010 19:57
Grub install tools?
I don't prefer GRUB over LILO but are there any simple (gui) install tools for Grub on Slackware 12.2, like liloconfig? After installing two different Ubuntu based distros (MINT and ArtistX) on different partitions and thereafter reinstalling LILO within Slackware and targetting all relevant partitions, the no... 20 Feb 2010 16:51
Unsupported kdelibs
Someone posted here a link to KDE 3.5.10 compiled for Slackware 13.0. I've looked at three different sites, and they all have what looks to be a 64-bit file in with the 32-bit files. It's the file kdelibs3-3.5.10-x86_64-opt2.txz, and you can see it here: ftp://ftp.cerias.purdue.edu/pub/os/slackware/unsupported/... 25 Feb 2010 10:14
USB boot media?
I screwed up my MBR via a non-Slackware distro GRUB restore tool residing on a separate partition, but thereafter managed to boot from the original Slackware installation DVD by the 'pinch' tip, like this: boot: hugesmp.s root=/dev/hda5 rd1 rdinit= ro I could then easily run 'liloconfig' to restore the original M... 19 Feb 2010 16:36
Quick re-compile question
Hi, Am an old script kiddie from 1994 and did pretty well re-compiling kernels in the old sub Ghz cpu based boards before USB was invented. I'm currently using these devices up to this day. Perl script: OK on 12.2 32 bit, fails on 13.0 64 bit
Hi everybody, I have a Perl script which is fine on Slackware 12.2 32bit and fails on Slackware 13.0 64bit. Perl 5.10.0 on both systems. The problem occurs with system calls. e.g. system("date"); If I execute a system call as the first command in the script then all is OK. But if I execute a system call dee... 15 Feb 2010 08:40
