Hi Phil,
Have used the KMS105 on many occasions - two of the acts I look after
use them for principal vocals. Smooth up to 12kHz where you get a
nasty peak. Can be incredibly sensitive to feedback.

I suggest you look at the Sennheiser e865. Less than half the price
and doesn't give the same feedback problems, great sounding too.
The Audix VX10 I have not used but want to. I have only heard good
things about this.
Audio Technica AE5400 - superb. I really REALLY like them.

If it was me, would I go for the Neumann over any of these? Probably
not.

The KSM9 looks phenomenal. If I had the cash it would probably be high
my priority list to try out.

depending on the stage conditions, the VX-10 didn't work out for me with a
tenor male voice but was wonderful on female.
with 5 vocals open i was getting a LOT of stage bleed into the monitor mix.
i had an AKG C900M on another male with no problems. (it was a "problem"
venue. shallow stage, low ceiling, hard mirrored back wall.)
went to a beta 57 on the harmonica player and he loved it.

why not try the new AKG C1 and let us know how it does? (apparently AKG ran
out of numbers or something and had to start over... kinda like the B1
bomber :)

That rules it out for use here then. I've used them in the past and have
been impressed but feedback is a problem on here due to the way the room is
laid out. Will be OK for my other gigs but I wanted one to use on the Amazon
cruise as we have an amazing female vocalist coming back and the 58s on here
just don't do her justice.

What's the price on this? Couldn't see it on Thomann.

OK, will take a look at those as well. Am going to have to buy without
trying which is why I'm asking here.

I won't get one this time around but will certainly try one out when I get
home.

OK, just bought one of those as well to try out. How does it handle feedback
rejection?
