Or better still <http://www.thomann.de/gb/sennheiser_e865_micro.htm>.
The "s" version has a switch that the "talent" WILL turn off at the
wrong time.

Got it less than a month ago and haven't really done a serious test of it
feedback wise (only smaller gigs with no feedback problems lately....) But
it sounds good. It's their "answer" to C535 and Beta anddoes thejob quite
well compared to the othertwo.......

Humm, Arny has never talked to ANYONE who lets say used a
SM57/58? Are you living in a cloistered convent for church
sound persons? AND its "SHURE" by the way.

Guess what, i was answering the Op's question. That's what its about,
Right Arny? Play for the orchestra section, not the peanut gallery.

Lets get the facts straight. Arny jumps into a thread about mikes,
contributes NOTHING to the thread, and then goes off on some
verbal masturbation. Any mike suggestions? NONE. Why are
you here Arny? Should you reveal the denomination of your religion
if you talk about churches?

Do i sell mikes? Yes. How many mikes have i every sold to
anyone on this group? Dam few. Do i care? no. That's not why
i post here. Funny you never came down on Gaster for his
"opinions" ;)

I am sorry the KSM9 is out of your budget range and you never have used one. Its
a fine microphone. As are many of the other suggestions made. Notice closely i
did not talk down any of the other suggestions.
No one will kick you out of bed for wearing Neuman underwear.
I don't get paid for ANY propaganda i may care to share.(or guano).

Arny is just mad i warmed his rear on the repair news group.
Figure out how to check a coil with a ring test yet Arny?

Bob

In defense of the S version. I never buy a mic without a switch now. Many times
when out and about with a mic it's handy to click it off when passing FOH or
getting personal with a monitor speaking to a guest/client/whatever.

If the switches are lockable, IE Sennheisers, I will lock it if given to an untrusted
person, or point out the switch and give the "talent" the choice of locking or leaving in
their control. I've never had any real problems yet with this, however I do work with
a small group of fairly techy bands so maybe I'm lucky.

Having the option there has made life so much easier many, many times. Certainly
saves chasing faders which might not even be near me at the time!

What a maroon! If you had any reading comprehension at all Bob, and a memory
longer than a micron, you'd know that I personally own at least one SM57. If
you were as smart as you seem to like to claim you are, you'd know that I
personally own several dozen microphones, Shure and competitive brands.

Obviously an intentionl misspelling. I'm playing you for a fool Bob, and
you've taken the bait perfectly. Nice of Mark to play along and expose his
hatred for me as well.

Thanks Bob for showing once again your willful ignorance of generally
accepted ethical standards by refusing to mention your direct business
connection with Shure in a post where you recommend their product(s).
