troll feeding (was: Downloading 13.1?)
Hallo, Archer, Du meintest am 10.07.10: Dan C attacked me without reason. From what I've seen, he's done that to others too, apparently with impunity. That doesn't apply now, and if others smack him for his churlishness too, he might just learn some civility. Welcome in my filter - you just please D... 10 Jul 2010 14:53
Downtrolling around 13.1?
Fri, 09 Jul 2010 06:16:13 -0700, jr4412 did cat : your posts (including the 'Ned Latham' ones) on various other newsgroups and the pattern is quite clear to see -- you're someone who enjoys swearing and (verbal) bullying better than reasoned debate. from the few I read (or say quickly browsed) in the thre... 9 Jul 2010 21:37
Devede and/or VLC 1.0+
Anyone know where I can get one or both packages or build scripts that will work with Slack version 12.1 or 13? The packages and build scripts I've gotten bomb with some sort of internal error. Panasonic FP2 camera - USB data transfer with Slackware 12.2
Just got a Panasonic FP2 camera. Having fun so far, but the USB data transfer to PC is painfully slow. Its supposed to be USB-2, so I'm thinking I need to do something to enable the higher speed USB-2 when mounting it? Clues required at this time. ;) XP = alt.os.linux,alt.os.linux.slackware FU = alt... 8 Jul 2010 09:07
compiz/kde
It's working fine under gnome (gsb) but not at all under kde - whether kde's compositing is disabled or not. xwmconfig shows compiz-gnome as the only option with compiz. [12.2] installpkg messing up perms
Lately, `installpkg` seems to be messing up permissions on system directories here: the latest incident being '/' set to 700 after installing a slackbuild. Other times, '/usr' and '/home' too were affected, IIRC. Is this a known bug? This didn't happen back when 12.2 was new. Maybe some relatively recent secur... 7 Jul 2010 01:29
