Photo software suitable for multiple users
Hi there I'm looking for a cost-effective software solution for managing an increasing number of photos (around 10,000) in such a way that multiple users on our LAN can access the photo database simultaneously. Pentax K-X, best 1.5 crop sensor going?
Detail retention at higher ISO's seems to be better than other crop cameras out there and noise control is reasonable. I think it would make a very good, compact low-light camera, coupled to a fast lens. Pity the 35mm f2.0 was discontinued and remaining samples are very expensive. ... 4 Mar 2010 11:12

Olympus crybaby HATES writing on the wall
It's funny watching the hard-core fans implode. Olympus has basically said 4/3rds is next to dead. They are obviously making good money with micro 4/3rds while they can't move E-series cameras (especially the E-30/3) to save their lives. So, in light of that, the interviews with at least four Olympus execs recent... 26 Feb 2010 23:07
Trade shows like PMA becoming irrelevant?
I know that in certain industries (automotive and transportation, civilian and commercial) trade shows still matter, but do they matter for cameras? The lack of substantive releases during CES and the PMA point out perhaps that they don't. Canon avoided the CES and various electronics trade shows have gone bust. ... 26 Feb 2010 23:07

Panasonic lenses overpriced for performance?
I'd say yes, recent tests on the Panleica 45mm macro confirms it. It costs over $1000 and yet it is blown away performance-wise by the recent Canon 100mm. In addition, the kit lenses for the Panasonic are not great lenses (especially the 45-200mm) and they cost over $300 each, which is huge for slow kit lenses. ... 26 Feb 2010 13:04
