I like to pull them apart and keep the magnets as some of the ones in hard
drives are the best fridge magnets I own.

Here's a clue, oh clueless one, not everyone who uses a computer and/or
posts here is a computer expert or even wants to be, but at a guess, I'd
bet that I probably know more about them than you do, but feel free to
inform us of your vast experience anytime soon - with computers that is.
