Delphi 2007 move routine flawed ?
I suspect there is a bug in this assembler routine, you'd be a hero and big news if you can find it ! ;) :) I suspect the problem is with copieing large blocks of memory which have a weird size like +1, +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 +7 so anything that will fall within a memory cell of say 4 or 8 bytes... either that or somet... 13 Jun 2010 10:27

ARM-based desktop computer ? (Hybrid computers ?: Low + High performance ;))
Andrew Reilly <areilly---(a)bigpond.net.au> writes: Back in '87 or so I had an Acorn RISC "PC", which had an ARM-2, and a "PC emulator". That must have been the Archimedes A310. The RISC PC did not come out until some time in the 90's, and this used an ARM610. It simulated an 8088 and the PC's basic ... 11 Jun 2010 08:06

Hello, Today Apple "released" the iPhone 4.0... I believe it has something like a 1.0 GHz processor... I find that quite impressive, 1.0 GHz in such a small package and non-overheating ??? Maybe to good to be true ? I wonder what the future will bring ?... Will we see the rise of "low power/low heat/... 11 Jun 2010 20:21
2 new instructions for marker scanning for Skybuck's Universal Code 6.
Decoding of Skybuck's Universal Code 6 can be accelerated by two new instructions: The instructions would be called: ScanMarkerForward (SMF) ScanMarkerBackward (SMB) Two different versions are thinkable: Version 1 uses a BitPosition to indicate where to start scanning to prevent the need for masking un... 8 Jun 2010 01:28
Skybuck's Universal Code Version 6 (The Fast Version)
Hello, It is time to make the world acquinted with Skybuck's Universal Code 6 (The Fast Version). Today's computers/instructions/instruction sets don't really work with "interleaved bits". They work more with "consecutive bits". Therefore it is time to update Skybuck's Universal Code Concept with versio... 8 Jun 2010 00:22
BSR needs to be a bit faster on AMD processors...
Hello, I have finished implementing a variation of Skybuck's Universal Code in something :) It turns out it needs BSR for decoding... this instruction seems quite slow on AMD's processors according to documents. The slowness goes up to 16 to 17 clock cycles/latency ?!? which is a bit too high for my tast... 16 Jun 2010 14:21
