Sony DSC-T9 battery in DSC-T900?

Cost Effective "Pro" Compact
I will be travelling to countries where an expensive camera would attract too much attention. I would love to take an LX3, G11 or Nikon D40, but would not feel comfortable with it. olympus 6000 fault
This is the waterproof and shockproof camera. Now out of its guarantee period. When I switch it on in playback mode it works alright, telling me that there are no pictures to show.
