Norton vs Zone Alarm firewalls
My Zone Alarm Pro firewall subscription expires in a few days and I recently bought a Norton Internet Security 2008 package that contains a firewall. I currently have the Norton firewall turned off and just use the Zone Alarm Pro firewall. I don't use the Win XP firewall because I heard that it's not a good idea ... 10 Dec 2007 00:28

SW firewall speed drop :-(
I have a P4 2.53 Ghz machine with Win XP Pro XP2. With ZA 6.5 installed my max network speed is 4050/920 kbps. If I uninstall or try from a PC w/o ZA I get 4971/962 kbps (I even get that speed when testing using a WLAN connection). That is a drop of about 20% in the speed. Is ZA 6.5 causing this? Is there... 10 Nov 2007 08:44

Point your browser to a suspect site such as www.onlyteenstgp.com 3. Do you see many blocks of "Beyond The Network Amer... 9 Sep 2007 17:02

It asks me to permit or deny but how do I tell? It gives the remote port b... 15 Aug 2007 13:43

Sometimes, and lately very often, my m0n0wall firewall outputs the string "watchdog timeout" on the screen and all connections drops. The only way to have any connection back up is to restart the firewall. Tha fact is that I donn't even know what watchdog is and what it means. Can anyone help me please? P.S... 16 Apr 2007 11:49
Zone Alarm Weirdness
Mark, I too just had this happen to me. Most of my HTTP requests were being sent to 209.87.208.60:8083. Oddly enough I had a few that were not such as my brokerage accounts (which BTW will have new passwords in a few minutes). Googling for the IP above I found this very thread as well as this other thread w... 24 Nov 2006 04:41
