iOS4 Windows'ism
Ok, so I'm really getting on with the multitasking and that's fine (though Spotify you laggards, where's my background-playing update?). There is, however, one Windows'ism that's really annoying me: can't move icons on the task bar. Several of my apps logically group together. When running them, I'm more likely... 26 Jun 2010 19:36
MacSoup
MacSoup: I've had a read of the manual but cannot see answers to these - can you tag a thread as "interesting"? and is there any way to save a post or a thread other than copying the article to the main mailbox? MacOS X 10.6. losing icons
I've had this minor problem with MacOS X ever since the start: every now and then, it'll lose track of some application icons. It seems to happen at random, and fix itself randomly but only after rebooting. Back in the old days, I knew how it worked and knew to rebuild the desktop if this happened. Is anyone else seeing this or have I mana... 23 Jun 2010 15:05

Thieving posties
I have to send somebody 300MB worth of slides. They have a pissy Blueyonder account so the largest attachment they can receive is about 25MB. Yousendit want to charge nine bucks a month for the ability to send a message that size. So I bought a cheap Peckham Council 2GB thumb drive, wrapped it in a letter and sent ... 30 Jun 2010 00:00
iPad: first impressions from a non-techy
There have been plenty of reviews and impressions of the iPad from people who are technical or gadget-minded. But that doesn't seem to be who the iPad is marketed to; I thought it would be interesting to get a review from the target market, so I got Hannah - who has now had an iPad for a couple of weeks - to email ... 28 Jun 2010 11:44
