What's the gain of this op-amp circuit?
Hi, I have been playing with op-amp for the past few weeks and I came across this circuit http://www.flickr.com/photos/11236051(a)N08/4577591378/sizes/o/ If I am correct, the gain of op-amp U1:B is 2, as (R1+R18)/R18 = 20/10 = 2. But what's the gain of op-amp U1:A ? I cant find the resistor which is going... 5 May 2010 02:48
Voltage loss over many circuits
Hi guys: I'm an ME and I'm trying to drive a large number of circuit boards in a confined area. The circuits are all identical and pull about 150 mA at 5V each. The problem is that there are almost 100 of the circuit boards spread over about a 48-inch distance. The power supply is big and can handle the total... 9 May 2010 11:03
World's Largest Wheatstone Bridge
String a wire back and forth across / along a fault line to measure very small displacements in the earth's surface. If the resistance and/or tensile strength needs to be higher than a common single alloy wire then structural steel cable could be wrapped around a insulated wire with a higher resistivity. It could... 9 May 2010 20:54
Transient response to ramp input
Okay. I'll start out by saying that this is *not* a homework problem. I'm trying to recreate some work I did many years ago which I subsequently lost the notes and spreadsheet for. My ultimate problem is to compute a reasonable estimate of the power dissipated in a termination resistor as used in a typical digita... 4 May 2010 22:24
How-To: Web server on a business card
This mini web server is slightly smaller than a business card. There are a lot of tiny one-board servers out there, but this is probably the smallest you can etch and solder at home. Unlike many embedded web servers, files are stored on a PC-readable SD card, not in a difficult- to-write EEPROM. Read on for the web... 1 May 2010 05:29

Transistor Or Resistor
I want to make a load center to test power supplies and batteries. I was thinking of using 50 Watt 4 ohm resistors for 12V loads but I will need 15 of them to get the current drain I want. I would also like to load 5V and 3.3V lines and of course that would require different resistors. I was wondering if t... 2 May 2010 16:28
