Hi friends, I am new to keil-4 RVMDK & luminary micro lm3s6965. I want to use some functions as re-entrant. In keil C51, they provide keyword "reentrant", But in RVMDK I didn't find any clue. Thanks & Regards, Kishore ... 1 Jun 2010 07:32
Fine, so what is a "complete" RTOS?
Some people are fine with for(;;) { loop }. Some other people use C#.net or LabView. What is the point? Use whatever means adequate for your application. [troll] Fine, so what is a "complete" RTOS?
I pontificated by saying that a complete RTOS should have both binary and counting semaphores, and someone called me on it by asking just what a "complete" RTOS is. I realized that my definition of a "complete" RTOS is pretty fuzzy -- mostly a mismash of every feature that I've ever wanted to use in an RTOS,... 29 May 2010 14:37

Base 10 exponent of a float
Hi folks- I think my brain is blocked and google isn't showing any solutions: Does anyone know of a way in C code to get the base 10 integer exponent of a single precision float? Thanks, John. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: news(a)netfront.net --- ... 28 May 2010 17:03
Semaphores in DSP/BIOS
OK, this may be a stupid question but I'm going to go ahead and ask it. I seem to be missing something very basic in the use of semaphores. The SEM module in DSP/BIOS maintains a non-negative count of the number of times it has been "posted". Then when a pend occurs, the process either a) blocks if count = 0, or ... 3 Jun 2010 12:15

AVR with Parallel Flash Memory
Hi all, I have a few questions on how to go about generate the correct waveforms for reading/writing from/to an external flash memory using an AVR microcontroller. The AVR has enough I/O to allow direct connection between address, data and control lines. I don't have to worry about counters/latches etc. The AV... 1 Jun 2010 18:36
Injection molding
Hi, OK, I've had to bite the bullet and go the injection molding route. What can I read up on *before* I make my appointments with suppliers? I'm looking for two pieces -- one the volume of an *original* iPod. The other about the volume of two "palms" (with the four fingers cut off). Both are very simple... 24 Jun 2010 16:20
