Mail to wildcard MX records doesn't work from Yahoo Mail, but fine from other addresses
I use wildcard MX records for mail, and a wildcard CNAME for web traffic. For example: *.example.com = MX record for mail.example.com *.example.com = CNAME myapp.appspot.com Email to bob(a)foo.example.com gets delivered to mail.example.com, and web traffic to http://foo.example.com goes to myapp.appsp... 14 Apr 2010 17:48
Postfix compile on OS X 10.6
I'm setting up a new server completely from scratch on Snow Leopard, Mac OS X 10.6.3, trying to compile Postfix 2.7. During make, I get this: In file included from dns_lookup.c:152: dns.h:23:29: error: nameser8_compat.h: No such file or directory make: *** [dns_lookup.o] Error 1 make: *** [update] Error 1 ... 19 Apr 2010 00:08

I need user non-delivery notifications to be CCed to postmaster. At least the headers need to be sent. Right I have the double bounces being sent by adding "2bounce" to notify_classes. I tried adding "bounce" to notify_classes but that seemed to send an email for every time postfix rejected a message. Conside... 13 Apr 2010 13:57

building postfix 2.7 from source
Background, I am using Centos as a base distro, though I seem to be getting further and further away from the original install as its seems to be somewhat/very out of date. I am not very keen on debian/ubuntu for the server as the developers there make IMHO "odd" changes to other peoples software, rather than ... 11 Apr 2010 10:07
Strange problem in SMTP communication
Hi! I've developed a RFC821-compliant mail server. I want to make it clear first that my server works well either with a mail client, as Thunderbird, and with telnet session. I've configured Postfix to communicate with my server modifying main.cf in this way: relayhost = [myMailServer.localhost] smtp_sasl_... 12 Apr 2010 13:40
