What's this about sun/oracle type-7 keyboards being only PC layout? (soon?)
Heard a rumor that (a) sun no longer made type-6 keyboards, and (b) that soon the type-7 keyboards would all be of PC layout, ie with the control-key way down at the bottom, NOT adjacent to the "a". If that's true, how the heck are we to use either VI or EMACS (ie without having it hurt every time we used a co... 7 May 2010 04:33

Besides some grepping through /etc/passwd and assumptions of repository order in nsswitch.conf, is there any method to easily determine is a user is local vs LDAP? Small tip about Adobe Acroread 9 and zlib 1.2.5
Just wanted to share info about an obscure bug I found with the combination Acrobat Reader 9.3.1, zlib 1.2.5 and libxml2 2.7.7 (compiled with zlib 1.2.5). So the problem started with me installing zlib 1.2.5 on my Solaris 10 system to get the LFS-support introduced in zlib 1.2.4, but because the new zlib is inco... 7 May 2010 03:29

nfs client uses reserved port?
Does solaris provide nfs client which uses reserved port for security? Such as Freebsd, it can use "vfs.nfsrv.nfs_privport=1" as kernel config. However, I found Opensolaris which has "set rpcmod:clnt_cots_do_bindresvport=1" optins on /etc/system, but it could not apply to solaris 10. Does Solaris 10 have the... 3 May 2010 18:43
