I've noted that you appear to enjoy playing with words. To quote one of your most recent examples : 'to represent in a reverse abstract upside left inside out vertically and horizontally reflected way' . . . If you go to : http://www.ian-stewart.eu/irs_2010.php Scroll down to : 'The result was somewhat confus... 22 May 2010 14:55

Internet Explorer: Footer Smooshed, line up borders?
Hi; I'm new at CSS. I made a prototype for a blog theme. My first. A 100% width header, followed by two colums and then a 100% footer. Works great in Firefox ( linux, windows ), Opera (windows) and Safari (windows). However in IE 6 * 7 the footer is smooshed horizontally? Any ideas of how to fix that?... 17 May 2010 20:12
fixed width + remainder
Lets say we have a fixed width navigation column of 200px. How to make the next column take up the remainder? It's easy to wrap under (and it wouldn't then be a column), or to specify everything as a percent, this is much harder. I have seen it done, but I don't remember how. How? It's trivial with tables! ... 20 May 2010 07:16

CSS logo div shows up in Safari but not Opera or FF
The test website URL is: www.realestate.simplycaribbean.com In Safari (on the Mac) the logo bar on the top of the webpage shows up ok, however in Opera and FF it shows up as white space. I thought it was being hidden behind the container.wrapper div so added z-index: 500; in the CSS file but this has made no diff... 11 May 2010 20:07

no cascade of DIV.links A:hover
I have a css file. It includes, for example: DIV.links A:hover { BACKGROUND: #fff; COLOR: #030; } Some of my pages need a different set of link colors. I assumed that style in the html file would over-ride the css file. The internal <style type="text/css"> is working for other things. It does not do so... 14 May 2010 20:29
