APC Smart-UPS vs Cyberpower CPS1500AVR
Thanks a lot for all the comments, I think I will get a better one. I went to tigerdirect, they carry APC Smart-UPS 1500 VA and they also carry Cyberpower CPS1500AVR (1500 VA) Is this Cyberpower any good? It said it's design for running server, it's like 30% less expensive than Smart-UPS... any idea? Thank... 7 Jan 2006 03:29
DVD-writer dieing?
Hello. I've got an 'Optorite DVD RW DD0201' with the latest firmware. Now a few months back I created a large number of data DVDs using a different writer but unknowingly using poor blank DVD's (I though big companies like Memorex/Phillips etc made their own). So I've been copying what I can from these disks and... 6 Jan 2006 16:40

The other problem, which may be linked, is that when I install 1 stick of RAM the computer works, but when I put two in I get errors o... 3 Jan 2006 02:28
HD replace problems
If anyone can help I'd sure appreciate it-- I replaced the hard drive of a 4 yr old PCV-RX590G Sony Vaio with a Western Digital 200 GB drive. The Vaio originally came with a 100 GB drive running XP. After installing the drive, I used the system recovery disks and thought everything went nicely, but when I checked... 2 Jan 2006 19:15
RAID-1 and bad sectors?
I just used BootItNG to resize the 2 NTFS partitions on my hard disk. I was increasing the size of the C drive, so I had to shrink the D drive and slide it down to the end of the disk. When I did the slide operation, I told it to slide everything including the unused areas. I ended up getting an "error reading f... 13 Jan 2006 08:48
LCD Monitor display confusion
Could someone please explain to me about LCD display resolution? I have a 19 inch Viewsonic VP191b monitor now for over a year. I have had NO problem with the display, therefore I am unused to dealing with a monitor problem. I recently changed motherboards and CPU, but kept all other hardware, including my ... 30 Dec 2005 09:57
Real-time clock
I have an old '386 computer that my grandchildren use to run DOS based games which will not run on my newer computers. Well, it finally stopped running; would freeze after post. Examination found that bios information would not be retained. The board does not contain a battery. There is a Dallas Real Time Cloc... 31 Dec 2005 23:10
