USB drive won't assign drive letter I've got a maxtor USB external hard drive. I think it's fried but I'd like to double check. When I connect it, the pc recognizes it, but won't assign it a drive letter, so I can't access it. Rambus question......... My system has four sticks of 256 PC800-45 Samsung RDRAM, and one has gone bad.
