THD 0.0001%
I just tested an active filter with THD ~ 0.0001%. Wow. This filter is intended for distortion measurements. There are two key things about it: 1. Using good quality film capacitors at the swings of less then 1% of the rated voltage. 2. All opamps should be in the inverting mode. Vladimir Vassilevsk... 29 Jul 2010 17:24
Back on topic: Penne and Pork Meatballs Arrabiata
Serendipity is a wonderful thing. I found a couple of recipes on the web; one for pork meatballs and one for penne arrabiata that were yummy by themselves, and I wondered what they might be like together. You tell me. :-) I modified them a bit, to suit my taste, and here's the result: For the meatballs: ... 3 Aug 2010 03:49
RC filter selection
Hi, I need to introduce a 90 degree phase shift using a RC low pass filter. The input single frequency sinusodial signal is 200KHz with 2.5volts peak to peak. I know that at F3db will introduce 45 degree shift and 10F3db will introduce 90 degree shift. I need the 90 shift to detect the peak of the circuit. ... 28 Jul 2010 16:16
Algorithm and voltage monitoring
Hi, I am monitoring the voltage across the resistor and needs to maintain it steady at set point value. LetÂ’s suppose if the set point value is 100 volts peak to peak and if the voltage goes below this value or above this value than I have to make MOSFETS turn ON and OFF using pulse width modulation to keep the ... 31 Jul 2010 11:48

The effect of the price of copper on the thickness of TO220

More LED fun
I did see something similar on youtube, but of course it is not real until you did it yourself, so I programmed a PIC 18F14K22, and wired up some LEDs. Jingling this at a footbal match (note the orange color) would be a quiet alternative to those horns. http://panteltje.com/panteltje/pic/sign_pic/ ... 25 Jul 2010 22:43
A measurment error?
Hi Guys, Here's a power monitor that uses clamp on current transformers. I don't see where it monitors voltage, so wouldn't it measure reactive power at an incorrect rate? http://www.currentcost.net/howitworks.html Mikek ... 28 Jul 2010 16:16
