What I'd like to know is: Why can computer manufacturers make computers
that can be plugged into any voltage & work, but audio manufacturers not
do likewise. Most Pro audio gear have switches that choose 120-or-240V.
How hard can it be to have circuitry to do this automatically?

The so-called automatic switching feature is typically based on switchmode
power supplies. The audio industry seems to be going relatively slow on
adopting switchmode power supplies, probably because of the EMI sensitivity
of their own equipment.

I mean no disrespect, but weren't you the one who began this thread
hating the LS9?

I think George has bragged here that he spent 4 years at uni either drunk or
high but always chasing girls. So, they gave him a degree in Business
Administration to get him out of their hair.

If you watch George's posting habits, he's generally got nothing to do most
of the week so he drinks a lot and posts drunk a lot. He gets kinda busy
some weekends. Things must be pretty slack right now, because hes mostly
bragging about stuff he did a long time ago.

Denny when you want legal advice you go to a lawyer, when you want medical
advice you go to a doctor
when you want pro live sound advice your best bet is a pro live sound
professional

this is why we specialize and advace in niche feilds such as live sound Vs
equipment design
and I did acknowledge that all those poster have valuable informeation to
offer
it is just not pro live sound information and I would search that
information out in the proper forums

it's how we attempt to keep the focus here on pro live sound and not
lighting or photography, or auto mechanics, circut design , religionor
politics
