Mac Intel GUID format? I am going to switch to an Intel Mac shortly and have a question about the GUID format needed to boot from an external drive. I have an emergency repair partition on a firewire drive. To make that a bootable partition, can I just erase the partition or do I need to reformat the entire firewire drive? Hosts file Is there such a things as a hosts file in OS X? In OS's 9.2.2 and below there were host files which you could edit. X-11 I often connect to a unix host using aterm (better than xterm) from my 10.4.7 intel-duo-mini with the -X parameter. Everything works well until I try to run an X-11 command (like xeyes or xclock) on the remote box. When I try this it times out waiting for the display to become available. PRINTING PROBLEM I have a strange printing problem. Neither printer will print black, colour yes, black no. i have done the usual things. G4 OSX: swap single->dual cpu: kernel panic For my PowerMac G4 AGP 400Mhz I bought a used Apple dual 450 cpu. The Mac'en runs troublefree with the original single 400 Mhz.
