Sites with 900 & 1800 MHz
Just browsing the Sitefinder website and see quite a few O2 masts around me are 900, 1800 and 2100 MHz. So, on a 2G phone, would it connect preferably to the 900MHz or 1800Mhz bit? - Is it simply the strongest signal? What is the advantage of having both frequencies - I assume capacity? Does this mean that if ... 26 May 2010 16:58

Voice calls from USB dongle?
Are there any USB dongles that are capable of making GSM calls? The reason I ask is I was recently using a Huawei B220 router. This looks like it's a wireless router with an E220 USB dongle built into it... there's a USB port you can use to plug it into a PC and if you do it appears just like an E220 (even the E... 24 May 2010 09:02

edge: what is it? 2g or 3g?
Hi, I was looking to buy a new phone and was reading the specs on some web sites and saw it mentioned that the phone had "EDGE". I didn't know what this was, so I looked it up on a famous online encyclopedia and it says that "EDGE is considered a 3G radio technology and is part of ITU's 3G definition." and... 22 May 2010 04:06

PAYG handsets from CPW - unlocked?
I need to buy a new handset to replace a faulty one being used on a contract, therefore an important requirement is that the handset should be unlocked (especially because I will be changing airtime providers soon to take advantage of another cashback deal). I believe CPW don't lock their phones - is that rig... 25 May 2010 10:13
HTC HD2: Problems with the Musci function and also with e-mail account menus
Hi I have long been used to reasonably good Sony Ericsson phones - the last being a W610 which lasted for four years. A month ago I bought an HTC HD2. Is there something I should know about this Windows mobile-based phone or am I an unreconstructed dinosaur in the ever-changing world of mobile phones? 1... 24 May 2010 16:50
