How to remount a USB drive
How do I remount a USB drive after I've ejected it by mistake? This is usually a 4GB thumb drive which I use to take files from my iG5, OS10.4.11, to other Macs that aren't on my LAN. From time to time I think I've finished putting the files onto it, and eject it, only to find that there's more to put on there. ... 26 Jan 2010 17:48
HTML5 video on YouTube
There's a trial of HTML5 video here: <http://www.youtube.com/testtube> It's great to see video without the fan-spinning of Flash on Macs. Stuart -- cut that out to reply ... 23 Jan 2010 03:22
OS X firewall - how to make it actually work
Hi, I'm trying to find out how to get the OS X application firewall to block access to all incoming traffic except for one application, VMware. Unfortunately the OS X application firewall is essentially useless because it allows all manner of things to easily bypass it, either directly or by using a command ... 22 Jan 2010 20:51
HyperCard, or something else
I need to document some fairly complex program logic. A small part of it - perhaps a 20th, or 50th - is at: <http://emberapp.com/evildmp/images/news-and-events-process-diagram/size s/o> I can either continue doing it on a canvas (I used OmniGraffle for that). A bedsheet-sized diagram would look pretty frikkin ... 3 Feb 2010 03:59

cured my sluggish 3G iPhone
My 3G's been *really* sluggish of late. It's on 3.1.2, it's jailbroken and it does have a couple of background apps (Scrobbl, for example) running, but I thought I'd see if I could improve things. Found a lot of info about creating a virtual memory swap file - tried this, wouldn't recommend it. You can backgrou... 19 Jan 2010 20:21

Web page problem
I have a friend who is launching a UK web-shopping site in conjunction with his Irish business partners. He's no web-design expert - but the site looks fine in Windows, but is all laid out horizontally, about 5 screens wide on the Mac, under any browser. Could someone take a quick look and suggest a possible s... 17 Jan 2010 20:39
Low ink warning in Snow Leopard
I've just tried to print something and for the first time using SL, the ink is running low. On the print dialog there's a violently unsightly amber button marked Supplies... which, when I click, takes me directly to Apple's US shop (sorry, 'store'). I'm then taken through a checklist to find out what printer I... 14 Jan 2010 19:12
