RS232 to GPIB converter using NAT9914
Hi, I'm a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and computing in Zagreb, Croatia.For my bachelor degree im designing a sort of converter.It would be an RS232 to GPIB converter.I'm using microcontroller from 8051 family and NAT9914 as interface to GPIB bus. The NAT9914 handles the communication layer,... 19 Oct 2005 09:18
Development Tools for NEC 78K
We're considering an NEC 78K microcontroller for a new project. We've not used this chip before, and we've no tools in-house. It looks like we can get compilers from (at least) 3 sources: NEC themselves, Gaio, and IAR. I've dealt with IAR before, and have my own opinions (spendy for what you get, but not a comp... 27 Sep 2005 10:14
Ethernet, Aloha and CSMA/CD - (was: RS485 CSMA/CD protocol)

Basic circuit
Hello I am not sure is this the right group to post this kind of question, I hope I am not too much out off topic. I am quite new to electronics, although I am programming software already for many years. I understand very basic circuit's schematics, but for this http://www.captain.at/electronics/atmel-progra... 24 Sep 2005 14:38
Silicon Labs CP2103
Has anyone here used this chip. Its a USB to UART Bridge with GPIO. I purchased a breakout board from sparkfun but I could not get the drivers to work on W98se or w2k. http://www.sparkfun.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cart=404139&cat=66& [about half way down the page.] Thanks for any insight. donald ... 23 Sep 2005 10:55

I am using the chip in a standalone board have some boot flash and is interfaced to 32 bit RISC processor. Can anybody help me? Thanks in Advance ... 25 Sep 2005 08:39
MSP430 --> AD421 DAC current loop problem
I hope someone with some experience with the AD421 can point us forward with a problem we have. We've got an MSP430F149 driving an AD421 16 bit DAC as a 4/20mA current loop driver. The AD421 is isolated using H11L1M optocouplers, the F149 is battery powered and completely isolated from the AD421, we have used the... 18 Sep 2005 18:25
Procyon AVRlib / UARTSend functions
Hi, This is an interesting issue considering the serial port communication applications in Atmel AVR Processors. I am using currently Procyon AVRlib C-Language Function Library for Atmel AVR Processors to write application over Atmel Mega2560. The library has Dual UART driver with buffer support. ( uart.c / ... 13 Sep 2005 11:16
Recommended Ethernet MAC/PHY?
Thanks to all who responded to the previous thread I started regarding AVR+Nut/OS vs. ARM+Linux. I have decided to go with an AVR (Mega128) with external SRAM (32kB or 64kB, probably) and an external ethernet MAC. (I would still consider the AT91SAM7X, except that it doesn't seem to be generally available yet. I... 14 Sep 2005 18:50
