Problem with Kodak Printer
My Kodak All in One 5100 printer was giving me some intermittent problems after installing it on my new Dell with Windows 7, so I tried to uninstall the software and reinstall it. Still problematic. So, I tried to uninstall and reinstall a third time. Now the driver won't load properly and in the list of "AutoP... 27 Dec 2009 09:45
Another dead Seagate?
Last night I turned on my infrequently-used Optiplex 755 with the intention of burning another DVD of last year's Christmas party. A few minutes later I cam back to see why it wans't at the Windows desktop. The system had hung just after POST. Rebooting and watching things during startup, I noticed huge pauses ar... 28 Dec 2009 22:52
Dead laptop?
My Vostro 1500 (2.0GHz 4MB L2 Cache) seems to have died after 20 months. Won't turn on (turned itself off in fact). On adapter, causes (90w) adapter light to go off. Same with another Vostro 1500 (90w) adapter. Take battery out, hold power button for 1 minute, reinsert battery, it won't turn on for batter... 24 Dec 2009 18:23
New Dell desktop requires motherboard replacement and now strange screens at boot up
Hi! Can anyone advise as to what this is and can/should it be eliminated? This is the result of an attempt to boot from the network. However, the board should not default to booting from the network even when it is new. That's a very good indication that the board is stuck in manufacturing mode, especia... 23 Dec 2009 13:36

Dell Dim 8300 - System Slow to Boot-Up
My system now takes 5-6 minutes to boot-up. The only thing I can think of is I'm running NAV 2010. What setting(s) in Nav2010 might be causing the system to be so slow at boot-up - I checked the Settings, looking for something that might say "scan at startup" but did not see anything. Are there other things I ... 28 Dec 2009 17:21
Optiplex 170L/E153FPc Monitor
My Display started acting strange and gradually ended with it appearing on bootup, or if I power cycled and then would blank out. I was told it could be the power options in Control Panel, which permanently set the monitor in power saver mode, and if I selected "never" for the monitor the PC would reset the moni... 23 Dec 2009 13:36
Inspiron 6000 now running slowly...
I have a friend with a Dell Inspiron 6000 that has started to run very slowly. The OS is XP Professional 2002 SP 3. The Centrino CPU is a 1.39 GhZ/1.70 GhZ. He has 2 GB of RAM. The 52.5 GB hard drive is 37% full. He has recently defragged the drive and performed a Disk Cleanup. Programs are very slow to l... 21 Dec 2009 19:08

Looking for infamous DellDeco utility (for decompressing Dell bios), or similar..
Hi, Dell users were allways unlucky regarding biosmods, because the Dell bioses are compressed in an unknown format. In the past, someone developed a program called DellDeco, which decompressed these bioses. Due too pressure by Dell, he was forced to remove it, and no one has been able to find it since. It ... 23 Dec 2009 10:49
